This is a tribute album to some of Bill Gaither's departed musical friends. They are George Younce, Jake Hess, Bob Cain, Rusty Goodman, Rex Nelon, Brock Speer and Howard and Vestal Goodman. They all get three tracks except for the Goodman's who get four, so the album represents very good value with 21 tracks. There are some very familiar songs such as "This Ole House" and "Suppertime", intermixed with some less familiar material. Bill Gaither has made a very good selection as all the music and lyrics are of a very high quality, but I particularly enjoyed Brock Speer's rendition of "He Touched Me", which Elvis once recorded (it is a little known fact that Brock Speer sang back-up on some of Elvis's first RCA recordings). I think this CD ought to do very well as a memento to some much loved Southern gospel singers.

Product Description
Bill Gaither shares some rare moments with Christians he has had the privilege of working with over the years.

Of his musical heroes, Bill says, 'The music that brought my world into living colour was the energetic four-part harmonies of groundbreaking gospel quartets of my childhood. And the people who brought that music to me will forever be my heroes. Of all the countless individuals I remember as pioneers and legends in the field of gospel music, I want to remember these people whose music I admired from early in their careers right up to their very last song.'

Including some of the best-selling Gaither artists of all time including George Younce, Jake Hess, Howard & Vestal Goodman, Rusty Goodman, Brock Speer, Bob Cain and Rex Nelon.
