Bill and Gloria's new album is a pleasure to listen to, with strong vocals and musicianship. They manage to give a fresh feel to old familiar hymns from composing pens as diverse as Fanny Crosby and Andrae Crouch. Older people will like this (a Christmas gift perhaps?). As Gloria interjects in "On Jordan's Stormy Banks", "We feel so healed... singing in harmony the songs of where we've come from and where we're going." My favourite is Bill and Gloria's own song "Gentle Shepherd". "Holy Ground" is sung with real reverence from Memphis Homecoming, featuring Joy Gardner's lovely voice. Jim Hamill involves us all in "God Leads Us Along". And with 18 tracks this is good value.

Product Description
In the search for the new, the modern, the contemporary it's all too easy to forget the past. While worship songs and choruses often more than adequately express the thoughts of our hearts, there is still a place for the great hymns and songs of previous generations. Through their Homecoming Friends concerts Bill & Gloria Gaither are committed to making sure that the best of the old takes place alongside the best of the new. 'Homecoming Hymns' is a collection of 18 classic favourites that have appeared on some of the releases in the Gaither Gospel Series. So from the opening full choir version of Andrae Crouch's 'Bless His Holy Name' through to the closing 'Only A Look' featuring Lillie Knauls 'Homecoming Hymns' is a trip down musical memory lane.
