With such a vast quantity of recordings made by the Gaithers through their Homecoming Friends gatherings, there's plenty of opportunities to reshuffle tracks into fresh compilations and this one, featuring as it does some giants of country music, is one of their best. I've always loved the Dallas Frazier song "Baptism Of Jesse Taylor" and the Gaither Vocal Band give it a good go while the late, great George Jones was, despite his age and infirmity, still able to add his delicious country twang to "Amazing Grace". Elsewhere the Statler Brothers, Jimmy Dean, Brenda Lee, Randy Travis and soulful, blind country singer Ronnie Milsap all show off their paces on well known gospel songs. The best cut of all is Marty Stuart who with his Fabulous Superlatives adding some delicious Appalachian-style mountain harmonies to the haunting hymn "The Unseen Hand" is truly captivating.
