This special tribute album was recorded at the Billy Graham training centre where Bill and Gloria Gaither had assembled a whole host of artists, some of whom had direct links with Billy Graham going back many years. The late Stuart Hamblen's wife is interviewed about life with her famed gospel singer husband, and George Beverly Shea relates the famous story of how "It Is No Secret" came to be written. For those of us with long memories of Christian music, Scandinavian star of the '70s Evie Karlsson is featured with "I Shall See You Soon Again" and she tells how Cliff Barrows performed at her wedding ceremony. Black gospel crossover pioneer Andrae Crouch does several of his old numbers and CCM star Michael W Smith admits to having been heavily influenced by this fine singer. Billy Graham himself was not well enough to be present, but his wife Ruth was there and his son Franklin Graham fills in some of the background of how the Billy Graham training centre came to be built. Personally I did not find this DVD as exciting as the Gaither Homecoming concerts, as it is very laid back and I thought became rather samey after a while. However those with memories of the Billy Graham crusades would probably find it something they might want to add to their collection.

My mother would love to have had both of the Gaither DVD's
on Billy Graham's life story. She was an avid follower in
the late 40's and throughout the 50's. I too am sort of
from that era and have been much impressed by Gaither's
handling of both the crusades and the great artists whom we
remember from that time. Jim
