In stark contrast to the razzmatazz of other Homecoming Friends albums, 'Revival' was recorded live in church and showcases the Gaithers in more reflective mood. Much of the material is drawn from the pioneer days of Southern gospel and includes "Nothing But The Blood", "Let's All Go Down To The River" and a gritty acapella rendition of "Blind Bartimaeus". Notwithstanding the inclusion of Irving Berlin's hackneyed "God Bless America", there are moments when singalong slips effortlessly into intimate worship as in Dallas Holm's "Rise Again" and Babbie Mason's "He'll Find A Way". Definitely my favourite Gaither album to date.

Product Description
It goes by different names - revival, renaissance, awakening, reformation - but the weary spirit always recognizes 'revival' when it comes. Revival will recall for you the times when God's presence invaded your dry places and suddenly you knew 'resurrection' was more than just a word.
